Attorney David Grimmett has always been determined to forge his own trail. After graduating from law school, when many of his peers were looking for jobs in big firms or government agencies, David took a computer, a banker’s box, and a chair and founded Grimmett Law Firm, PLLC, determined to practice law his own way and on his terms. He grew the firm to what it is today; a thriving downtown Nashville firm with over 1,000 clients.

David’s individualism and determination is not limited to the creation of his law practice; it is also recognized and respected by his peers. With a dual focus on personal injury law and child abuse cases, Grimmett has become recognized for his expertise in both areas. He frequently serves as a special magistrate in the Davidson County Juvenile Court when sitting judges are unable to hear cases. In addition, he is one of only ten attorneys selected by the State to teach other attorneys how to work with severe child abuse cases. Furthermore, after clerking for the Administrative Law Judges overseeing all hearings involving the Department of Health and Department of Commerce and Insurance, Grimmett now tries administrative hearings involving professional licenses. David is both the chairman of the Nashville Bar Association’s Juvenile Court Section and the treasurer of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Administrative Law Section.

If you or a loved one have been injured in a car wreck, because of medical malpractice, or as the result of nursing home abuse, you may be experiencing a confusing mix of problems in the aftermath of your injury. Personal injuries do not just impact physical health, but can also impact emotional health, and have a devastating financial impact. David is committed to helping you determine what your damages are and helping you recover those damages. Unlike some plaintiff’s attorneys, David is not scared to take a case to trial and will not push you to take a settlement that will not address both your current and future needs.
