Miley Cyrus, aka Hannah Montana, has announced she is engaged to her “The Last Song” co-star Liam Hemsworth.
The star is but a tender 19 years of age and already she has made headlines for inappropriate sexual pictures, piercings and tattoos, and soon Hannah Montana might be making headlines for divorce.
The former Disney star seems to have grown up rather fast and with a 3.25-carat diamond engagement ring, it’s easy to see why.
While no date has been set for the wedding, she and Hemsworth, 22, appear to be very happy together. Yet, statistics are against the young pair.
One in every two marriages ends in divorce, especially those that occur at a young age. According to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 48% of those who marry before age 18 are more likely to divorce within 10 years, compared to 24% of those who marry after age 25.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the fact that both Cyrus and Hemsworth are Hollywood stars doesn’t exactly scream marriage bliss. Most Hollywood marriages end up in Splitsville regardless.
For now, they should be happy with their romance, because let’s face it, only time will tell what their future has in store.
