Amorina P. Lopez earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007 from the University of California, Berkeley, where she majored in English and Italian. During her course at the University of California, Berkeley, Ms. Lopez clerked for the nationally recognized consumer protection law firm, Robinson, Calcagnie, Robinson in Newport Beach, California.
After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, Ms. Lopez joined the talented team at Lopez McHugh as a clerk. During this clerkship, Ms. Lopez worked on the mass tort litigation involving Cypher and Taxus Drug-Eluting Stents. It was at this point that she discovered her fervent desire to advocate on behalf of those injured by corporate injustice.
Ms. Lopez earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2011. While attending law school, she worked for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office as a certified law clerk where she wrote and successfully argued motions before the Orange County Superior Court. Ms. Lopez also completed an externship as a certified law clerk for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office as part of her enrollment in Loyola Law School’s William Hobbs/Poehls Trial Advocacy Program during her law school tenure. Ms. Lopez was assigned to the preliminary hearing unit where she drafted and conducted felony preliminary hearings.
In addition to gaining courtroom experience in the criminal law field, Ms. Lopez interned with Lopez McHugh throughout her law school career, cultivating her civil litigation skills and strong aspiration to redress the grievances of those injured by corporate misconduct. Ms. Lopez joined the firm as an associate in November 2011. Currently, she is working on cases that involve defective medical devices and drugs, products liability, and various personal injury cases.
Recently, Ms. Lopez has focused her attention on birth injury cases. As a new mother, Ms. Lopez is passionate about being an advocate for children and families that have experienced the devastating occurrence of injury at birth as a result of medical negligence.
Ms. Lopez is admitted to practice before all of the courts of the State of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the Birth Trauma Litigation Group, the American Bar Association (ABA), and the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA).
Ms. Lopez takes pleasure in travel, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family. She especially enjoys spending time with her husband, their son, and their golden retriever, Mowgli.
