David Castello graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Grinnell College in 1981 and attended The George Washington University, National Law Center on a scholarship, where he received his J.D. in 1985. Prior to attending law school, he took a year sabbatical to work as a Family Teacher at Boys Town in Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Castello was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves from 1977 to 1983. From 1985 until 2015, he worked for a respected local insurance defense firm. From 2015 until joining ATB in 2018, Mr. Castello handled the Workers’ Compensation and Civil Litigation matters for a successor to his original firm.
Mr. Castello has practiced in the areas of Workers’ Compensation Defense and Civil Litigation Trial Defense for over 30 years in the Omaha, Nebraska area. His practice included defense work in Workers’ Compensation Court, federal, state and appellate courts in both Nebraska and Iowa. He has extensive experience in Workers’ Compensation and Civil Litigation defense with successful outcomes in the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court, the U.S. District Court, Nebraska District Courts and the Iowa District Courts and has obtained favorable decisions in the Nebraska Supreme Court, the Iowa Supreme Court and the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Most recently, Mr. Castello was selected as an Elite Lawyer of the South by The National Law Journal.
