Eliot Present comes to Nass Cancelliere with almost 40 years as an experienced litigator. For the first part of his career, he worked as a prosecutor for the City of Philadelphia. In that capacity, he tried over 200 jury trials, including 50 homicide cases. During his time as a prosecutor, he worked on numerous appellate briefs and argued cases before the Pennsylvania Supreme and Superior Courts.
Additionally, he spent time as a supervisor training new attorneys as litigators. He brings the same passion and commitment to litigating asbestos cases. For the last 35 years , he has litigated many asbestos cases. In 2011, his successful verdict in Nybeck v John Crane was named by the Legal Intelligencer as one of the top twenty verdicts that year. It was also named the top verdict in an asbestos case. He has won more cases against defendants representing welding rods (that contained asbestos) than any lawyer in America.
Eliot Present has won multiple million dollar verdicts against asbestos defendants, including defendants who manufacture asbestos containing wire, gaskets and brakes. Asbestos cases frequently involve clients who have had exposure to many different products. Seven of his verdicts resulted in verdicts against only the defendant, who challenged Mr. Present’s client in the courtroom. He is a passionate father whose greatest accomplishment is raising a son who is an attorney and is kind and successful.
