Education/employment history
Mrs. Mesic received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law in 2007 and was admitted to the Florida Bar the same year. She began her legal career in Ocala, Florida, as an Assistant State Attorney for the Fifth Judicial Circuit. While there, Mrs. Mesic prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases and tried over 20 jury trials, ranging from DUI to Domestic Battery.
After several years, Mrs. Mesic accepted a position with Joseph & Marees, in the City of Jacksonville, where she practiced primarily in the areas of Creditor's Rights and Judgment Enforcement. On a daily basis, Mrs. Mesic worked with pro-se debtors and attorneys to settle cases and obtain the best possible results for her clients. In 2009, she was admitted to the Middle District of Florida and handled various bankruptcy matters representing creditors.
After leaving her position at Joseph & Marees, Mrs. Mesic launched The Law Offices of Kate Mesic, allowing her to combine both her criminal trial and civil trial experience for the benefit of her clients.
Memberships
Mrs. Mesic serves on the executive boards of the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association and the University of North Florida Pre-Law Board of Advisors. She is also a Member of the Women Business Owners organization in the City of Jacksonville. Mrs. Mesic is licensed to practice in the State of Florida and the Middle District of Florida. She is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association.
Biography
Yekaterina "Kate" Mesic was born in Moscow, Russia. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1997 and settled in Jacksonville. She attended Wolfson High School and later graduated from the University of North Florida with the Highest Honors. Kate is an avid Zumba fan and loves to practice yoga. She and her husband, Jasmin Mesic, who she met while in high school, reside on the Southside of Jacksonville. They enjoy traveling all over the United States, hiking and enjoying music from all over the world.
