Tom Cruise’s Post-Divorce Diet

Tom Cruise has always been in the limelight, but he has recently climbed his way to the top of the charts during and after his divorce from fellow thespian Katie Holmes.

The “Rock of Ages” star, who is now 50, does not look his age. And while many women reportedly join the “post-divorce weight loss club,” Cruise may be the first man to actually lose weight after a divorce as well.

Cruise reportedly lost 14 pounds from the stress of his divorce, which was finalized on Aug. 21. The actor, who was busy working on his next film when he received the call that he was being served with divorce papers, has allegedly not been eating very well.

“Tom is refusing to slow down and is trying to soldier on,” say sources close to Cruise. “He doesn’t seem to be himself. He hasn’t been working out like he normally does and doesn’t appear to be eating well at all. His clothes just hang off him. His way of dealing with this is to throw himself into his work, but as a result he’s not looking after himself.”

Cruise, who was supposedly shocked when he found out Katie filed for divorce after five years of marriage, had made headlines just a few months before after flaunting his six-pack abs on a photo spread in “W” magazine.

It’s fairly common to see divorced couples either lose or gain a lot of weight after enduring the stress of divorce proceedings. It is important to remain as healthy as possible throughout the case and to contact a divorce lawyer to ensure proceedings run as quickly and smoothly as possible.

A Look Into Katie Holmes’ Meticulous Divorce Plot

Katie Holmes’ divorce filing came out of the blue, both for the public and her now ex-husband, Tom Cruise. However, the lengths Holmes went to in order to keep her plans hush hush were anything but hasty.

Holmes broke the news to Cruise that she was filing for divorce on June 29, on a phone call while Cruise was thousands of miles away in Iceland, shooting his upcoming sci-fi film “Oblivion.”

In just a few days, it seems as though Holmes filed for divorce, took off to a New York pad with the couple’s six-year-old daughter, Suri, and rid herself of the name Mrs. Cruise. But the former “Dawson’s Creek” starlet put careful thought into her master divorce plan.

According to the Los Angeles Times, a friend of Holmes provided her with a disposable phone so she could communicate with her New York City divorce lawyers so the public – and Cruise – wouldn’t know what was going on.

Holmes, 33, had allegedly been planning the divorce for some time, even informing her parents of her decision to split from the 50-year-old “Rock of Ages” actor, whom she had been married to for five years.

Perhaps Holmes’ biggest advantage was that she had her own father, Martin Holmes, a top Ohio divorce lawyer, on her case, vying for her every step of the way.

The ex-couple settled quickly and obtained the divorce on Monday. Although not much is known about the specific details of the settlement, Holmes, who requested sole custody of Suri, will have total control over her daughter’s education.

And after renouncing her Catholic faith for Cruise’s Scientology, Holmes’ has now taken her life back and registered at the Church of St. Francis Xavier in New York. Presumably, she will be raising Suri Catholic as well.

Tom Cruise Contemplates Filing Counter Divorce

Tom Cruise is not one to go down without a fight. Sources say that he is planning out his own divorce filing, despite his wife, Katie Holmes, doing so a week ago.

One of the actor’s divorce lawyers, Bert Fields, confirmed that the 50-year-old “Rock of Ages” star has made plans to file for divorce, but for the moment, has opted to let Holmes take the forefront in the media before making any moves with a counter divorce.

“Tactically we can’t say where Tom will file a divorce case and if he’ll be seeking joint custody of Suri,” said Fields. “We are letting ‘the other side’ play the media until they wear everyone out and then we’ll have something to say.”

Seeing as how both Cruise and Holmes are very private people, it is not likely that the media will get too much out of either.

Homes filed for divorce on June 28 in New York and is seeking sole custody of 6-year-old Suri. Sources say Holmes is in fear that Cruise’s fellow Scientologists will abduct her.

Many speculate Cruise will file a counter divorce in California, seeking joint custody, but the actor’s representatives have yet to confirm.

Meanwhile, the former “Dawson’s Creek” starlet has moved to a downtown Manhattan apartment with Suri.

Tom Cruise Recycles Divorce Lawyer

It seems as though Tom Cruise is going green on his divorce from fellow thespian Katie Holmes. Rumor has it he hired the same divorce attorney he worked with on his previous divorce from Nicole Kidman.

Dennis Wasser, a Los Angeles-based divorce lawyer, will be representing Cruise in what might just trump the Kardashian-Humphries split to be the biggest divorce of the year.

A source confirmed that Wasser has taken Cruise’s case and added that another New York-based divorce lawyer will also join the team.

Holmes filed for divorce in New York, but there is a good chance the case might move to California. Several legal experts claim that her decision to file in New York may give her an advantage in her pursuit to gain sole custody of the couple’s six-year-old girl, Suri.

In addition, if the case is tried in New York, the couple will undoubtedly have more privacy as proceedings unfurl, due to the fact that the state seals divorce filings while California often allows them to be public.

Holmes has solicited the help of divorce attorneys Jonathan Wolfe and Allan Mayefsky, who represented Christie Brinkley in her divorce from Peter Cook.

According to Cruise’s publicist, the “Rock of Ages” star was “deeply saddened” by Holmes’ decision to file for divorce last week and claims it came as a “complete surprise.”

Many speculate the divorce had something to do with Cruise’s Scientology faith. It is also rather curious that all three of Cruise’s marriages ended when his ex-wives were 33-years-old. In addition to being married to Kidman, Cruise’s first marriage was to actress Mimi Rogers.

What is different this time around is the fact that it was Holmes who filed for divorce. With his last two marriages, it was Cruise who filed the papers.

Russell Brand Avoids Discussing Divorce

Although he soon to be ex-wife Katy Perry didn’t mind setting the record straight about her divorce, comedian Russell Brand has yet to speak publicly about his divorce.

It seems as though Brand isn’t doing half bad following his decision to file for divorce from the singer, but the 36-year-old did everything he could to avoid talking about his personal life while promoting his new FX show, Strangely Uplifting, at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

When asked by reporters how he was doing, Brand responded, “Quite well, thank you. Are you asking because of recent events? You are making the mistake of seeing time as linear. The brilliant American author Kurt Vonnegut, he’ll tell you that if you imagine reality as experienced simultaneously, events become redundant.”

As if that response wasn’t strange enough, Brand kept on rambling cryptic nonsense, saying:

“I don’t want to further celebrate the overly elaborate brittle, plastic structures of nonsense that are constantly fired into our minds to distract us from what’s actually important. If I’d done something actually newsworthy, in some bizarre quirk, then I’d cover it, but if it was more lacquered nonsense designed to distract us from truth, then I’d wisely ignore it.”

Brand certainly hasn’t let his divorce drag down his career. The British talent will soon be portraying Lonny Barnett in Rock of Ages.
And although he didn’t directly speak about his divorce from Perry, he did say he is very happy.

“I’m happy my darling. I am happy, thank you,” he told reporters.

Although Brand may be keeping a straight face, a divorce is one of the toughest experiences a person can go through. Divorce cases can take a long time to finalize, and couples can get into serious arguments. Luckily, help is available.
