Divorce Still Delayed for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are at it again. The NBA star has refused to set a trial date for the ex-couple’s long-awaited-for divorce until he can interview Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner, and her current boyfriend, Kanye West.

A divorce attorney for Humphries said it will be at least four months before a trial will be set and says Kardashian hasn’t really done anything to speed things along.

“I don’t want to use the word ‘uncooperative,’ but they are not making the process easier,” said Humphries’ divorce lawyer, Marshall Waller, according to E!

Waller has requested business records from Kris Jenner, which he has yet to receive and needs in order for the deposition to proceed.  The information Waller seeks is part of an effort to prove the couple’s 72-day marriage was a fraud.

“To say I am frustrated is an understatement,” said Laura Wasser, Kardashian’s divorce lawyer. “I’m at a loss to figure out what the holdup is. They had a prenup and were married 72 days.”

Wasser said her client has already incurred $250,000 in legal fees, which she plans to bill to Humphries.

The couple’s short-lived marriage began in August 2011 and ended when Kardashian filed for divorce on Oct. 31, citing irreconcilable differences.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise Reach Divorce Settlement

NEW YORK — Although it was expected to be one of the largest divorce cases in history, actors Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have reached a settlement Monday.

Less than two weeks after Holmes, 33, filed for divorce, the couple’s divorce lawyers say the pair has reached an unexpectedly quick settlement.

“The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed,” said Holmes’ divorce attorney Jonathan Wolfe. “We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life. We thank Tom’s counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution.”

As usual, the ex-couple has kept the details of the settlement private because of their 6-year-old daughter, Suri, leaving many to wonder what exactly will happen in terms of the battle for custody and especially what they have decided regarding the role of Scientology in Suri’s future.

According to Los Angeles divorce lawyer Steve Mindel, “A quick settlement indicates that they were able to agree that they’ll both do some co-parenting.”

Many have taken Holmes’ side during the divorce, saying the once bright-eyed, exuberant “Dawson’s Creek” starlet lost her spark after marrying Cruise. Maybe now that she is single again, she will once again become the bubbly actress everyone knew and loved.

Katy Perry Documentary Gives Look Into Personal Life and Divorce

Katy Perry’s new documentary, aptly titled “Katy Perry: Part of Me,” is going to be a little more than just an entertainment piece.

The pop singer explained that her film will feature several emotional scenes surrounding her divorce from British comedian Russell Brand.

When asked by MTV News why she chose to include footage of her personal relationship with Brand in the documentary, she said she “couldn’t avoid the elephant in the room,” but wanted to show how she was able to prevail through her struggles.

“In my personal struggle, you see me not changing and not giving up on this dream that I’ve had my whole life. Hopefully people are inspired by that,” Perry said. “You don’t always see me with all the gorgeous lighting and makeup on and all that. I think it’s fine. Hollywood is so fake and people need to realize that people are just people, and you, too, don’t need to be born into something or have money or have whatever product someone is hawking on you. Find out what your gift is and nurture it.”

Perry added that she wanted to make sure her audience didn’t think she had anything to hide regarding the divorce and did her best to handle the depiction with maturity and integrity.

Seal and Heidi Klum battle over divorce papers

CALIFORNIA – Although Seal and his soon-to-be ex-wife Heidi Klum had agreed to stay friends after their split, it seems as though that plan is about to fail.

Now that Klum has officially filed divorce papers, things are starting to get a lot less friendly between the formerly loving pair.

In response to Klum’s filing, Seal has filed papers of his own. Seal is asking for joint physical and legal custody of their children, while his wife wants sole physical custody with visitation rights and joint custody for Seal.

Klum’s divorce papers mention an agreement between the couple that would protect each other’s assets, but Seal is arguing that there are “quasi-community” assets that he wants split between evenly.

At least they can agree on one thing – alimony. Both Seal and Klum have asked a judge to deny the other spousal support.
