Moving companies are often relied upon when an individual or family needs assistance with gathering their belongings and transporting them to another location. While moving companies have made the lives of many much easier with the help they provide, have you ever considered what would happen to your things in the event the moving truck carrying them was involved in an accident? While you would assume that your items would eventually get to you once the company was able to recover from the accident, one family experienced something entirely different.
According to Tucson News Now, David Rosmarin and his wife decided to move from New Jersey to Tucson, AZ after his wife “received a dream job” in the medical field. They hired Experienced Transport Moving Company to help them with their move to their new home. While Rosmarin’s wife was anxious and excited to pursue her dream career, that dream quickly turned into a nightmare. Apparently, the truck that was transporting their belongings, along with those that belonged to two other families, overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike and that accident left two people dead.
The source went on to highlight that their items on the truck which included things like TV’s, chairs, sofas, etc. were moved to a storage unit by B&L Towing. But, the family didn’t learn of any of this until about a week after the truck incident. They told the source that after a week passed and they didn’t receive their belongings, they found out the truck had overturned. And after a month passed and they still didn’t have their household items returned to them, they found out that their stuff was being stored at the tow company’s storage lot. That resulted in the couple going back and forth with the company trying to find out why their things never made it to their new home in AZ.
After the issue was still not resolved, Rosmarin had to hire an attorney to step in and help. He told the news outlet that him and his wife “we strung along for weeks this way.” They became “angrier” and “more worried” as they didn’t know the true whereabouts of their items or whether it had been stolen. After two months had passed since they packed the truck and set off for Tucson, the couple still hadn’t received their things. The news outlet did reach out to B&L Towing and found out there had been a “verification issue with the items on the truck” and that the couple could come and pick their things up in New Jersey if they wanted to.
Back at the beginning of August, Rosmarin was said to have still been working with his attorney and receiving help from MoveRescue.comto help resolve this unfortunate issue that has left him and his wife without the items they need to start their new life in their home in Arizona.
