A Missouri man is dead and four adult entertainers are being held without bond in separate facilities for the murder. What’s the real story behind crime?
Although news source sites aren’t providing all the intricate details that would help piece together this case, there will likely be plenty of criminal defense attorneys in Tennessee stepping forward to represent the four women who are being recognized for the murder of 55-year old Ralph Cross. What we do know, however, is that Cross allegedly stopped to help the women when they had a flat tire and offered to buy them a new one.
Cross offered for the four women to come back to his home and “lounge” there while he worked on their vehicle, however, it hasn’t been disclosed how they or their vehicle got back to Cross’ house seeing that it had a flat tire. Perhaps Cross didn’t want to leave four women stranded out on a road while waiting for him to come back with the new tire which is why he allowed them to come back to his home. But how exactly did the vehicle get back to his home if it had a flat and he needed to work on it?
There’s one missing piece to this puzzling story.
The other detail that hasn’t been disclosed is the exact date Cross came into contact with the women. The last time Cross was seen alive in his house was on August 1st around 6:30 p.m. A witness stated that they saw Cross arguing with three of the women and one of them claiming that Cross “was trippin” and that it wasn’t a good idea to go back in there. There was then a loud noise and all the women proceeded to leave the home in the white vehicle, however, they didn’t leave empty handed. When Cross’ body was later found with a gunshot wound to the back, his pants pockets were turned inside out and couch cushions were ruffled indicating the women had robbed Cross before leaving.
Brittany Curry, 28, Ponesha Taylor, 23, Johniesha Simmons, 19, and Lauteshia Dotson, 23, all turned themselves in on August 3rd after friends of theirs persuaded them to go to police after seeing their photos on the news. These women will need to hire an experienced criminal defense lawyer if they want their side of the story to be portrayed properly as they have yet to admit to the murder or identify their role in the incident.
While it sounds as though the women may have taken advantage of a man who was simply trying to help them, there is always two sides to every story. And it is the duty of a defense attorney to highlight each side as some often neglect to take one party’s into consideration. We don’t know whether Cross was trying to take advantage of these women given that they were adult entertainers or if they used their broken-down vehicle as an excuse to rob a naïve man.
It can be expected, however, that once defense lawyers get involved and more details come out that this puzzling story will begin to make more sense.
