Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred in Boynton Beach, which is about 20 minutes away from Palm Beach, involving a pedestrian and a Publix tractor-trailer. According to the Sun-Sentinel, the Publix truck being driven by Bryan J. Martinez Borjas, 31, was driving on Seacrest Blvd. with passenger Huachuca Moore, 46, when they stopped behind a city recycles truck. After the city truck began moving, the Publix truck followed behind and that is when Herma Jervis, 68, was hit.

Somehow, Jervis was run over by the left outer wheel on the Publix truck, however, police aren’t sure how she ended up underneath the vehicle. Jervis was transported to Delray Medical Center and later passed away from her injuries. The intersection where the incident occurred is located just north of East Gateway Boulevard and east of Interstate 95, says the news outlet.

A Publix spokeswoman spoke out regarding the incident and said: “It’s an ongoing investigation so it would be inappropriate for us to comment at this time. But our continued thoughts and prayers are with the pedestrian.” However, Boynton Beach police are asking that any witnesses who saw the incident or have information pertaining to it call Traffic Homicide Investigator Lawrence Rini, at 561-742-6853.
