If you own a Maserati, you may want to look into whether you vehicle is included in the current recall that has been issued.

Why Has Maserati Issued a Recall?

According to documents that were filed with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, when a driver or passenger adjusts the front seats, it could possibly lead to an electrical shortage and even a fire. And if that were to occur while a driver was on the highway or some other roadway that prevented them from stopping immediately, they could be facing a major car accident. This particular recall is for the mentioned models manufactured between 2014 and 2017. The company has also announced another recall for Quattroporte and Ghibli vehicles made between 2014 and 2015 because those vehicles could potentially have fuel-line leaks.

The vehicles in question have suggested retail prices that range from $71,600 to $145,500. You can be certain that the owners of these vehicles will be looking into having their cars inspected immediately to ensure they aren’t at risk of having theirs catch fire.

Car Accidents and Recalls: Why One Contributes to the Other

Our vehicles are expected to be sold to us in conditions that promote safety, not place us at risk or in danger. While recalls aren’t something companies expect to arise, when they do, most find out because someone has already been affected by the defect. While our roads are already extremely dangerous as driver’s aren’t as cautious as they should be, driving a defective vehicle only adds to the risk.

Some of the recent recalls that have been known to increase the severity of a car accident include:

  • Defective air bags
  • Faulty floor mats that get stuck between the accelerator pedal which interferes with a driver’s ability to operate their vehicle.
  • Defective tires- Our tires make up the foundation of our automobiles so when they aren’t safe or were manufactured with a defect, it increases the chance of the driver engaging in an accident.
