For most people, the justice system is unfamiliar and daunting. Whether facing criminal charges or attempting to get compensation for injuries, the rules and regulations surrounding the justice system can make it seem impossible for an everyday person to get anything close to justice. Some attorneys seem to encourage this confusion; after all, a client who does not understand what is occurring in a case is more dependent upon the attorney and less likely to question that attorneyÍs decisions.

Attorney Dion Custis takes a different approach to the law. A former public defender who specializes in criminal defense and personal injury law, Dion firmly believes that the more knowledge his clients have about their legal cases, the better able they are to make the decisions that are best in their individual circumstances. After all, you are the one who has to live with the consequences of the decisions you make; your attorneyÍs job is to ensure that you fully understand those consequences. To Dion, that means ensuring that you realize the potential risks and benefits of every legal decision involved in a civil or criminal case.

Dion understands all of these potential risk and benefits because of his extensive, practical experience. He began his legal career as a law clerk in a Federal District Court handling civil and criminal cases, immediately began criminal work as an assistant public defender, and then transitioned into his current solo practice. During his career, Dion has handled every type of criminal case, ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies, including death-eligible cases. In fact, Dion may be best-known for successfully seeking life sentences for four of his more notorious clients, Keith Jesperson, Aaron Dowdell, Aaron McKinney, and Kent Profitt, who were all charged with murder with the state seeking the death penalty.
