About

Jim Carmichael has practiced law in St. Charles County since 1979. He began as a general practitioner, working in a wide range of legal areas, and for the past 20 years has focused specifically in criminal defense and personal injury.

In representing individuals charged with crimes, Carmichael has led numerous jury trials and handled thousands of cases including driving while intoxicated (DWI) offenses, drug offenses, murder, armed robbery, kidnapping and assault, among others. With the ever-increasing complexity of DWI and DUI laws, Carmichael has spent recent years assisting those charged with DWI or DUI, as well as those at risk of having their probation or parole revoked by the government.

When it comes to personal injury, Carmichael represents individuals who have been injured, and the families of victims who lost a life due to the negligent act of another. Carmichael has handled numerous jury trials representing the plaintiffs in personal injury cases, mainly in the areas of automobile crashes and premises liability.

Highly regarded in the legal profession, Carmichael has received an AV rating, the highest rating awarded to attorneys by the prestigious firm of Martindale Hubbell. He has served on the board of directors for the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, as president of the St. Charles County Bar Association, and has received a service award from the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri.
