Houston native Jose Orihuela left Texas to go to law school, attending the Northern Illinois University College of Law on the Opportunity Academic Achievement Scholarship. There, he honed his leadership skills as a member of the Delta Theta Phi Legal Fraternity, a Student Body Association Representative, vice President of the Latino Law Students Association, and a member of both the Moot Court Competition and Mock Trial competition teams. Like many law students, Jose initially found work close to his law school, beginning his legal career as a law clerk at a litigation boutique in Illinois where he was introduced to personal injury law, then later practicing at the Ogle County StateÍs AttorneyÍs Office. Upon returning back to Houston, Jose began practicing with Rene Gonzalez & Associates, where he began work defending traffic tickets. While Jose had an outstanding record at his former firms and continues to work with them, on occasion, he realized that his real passion was personal injury work. Joining The Pinkerton Law Firm, Jose began pursuing that passion in earnest.
Jose opened his own firm, Orihuela & Associates, because he wanted to bring a personal touch to his personal injury law. He understands that people who have suffered personal injuries are already dealing with an overwhelming number of challenges: physical healing, property damage, time away from work, relationship stress, and even post-traumatic stress can all make the road to recovery seem impossible. By focusing on developing a personal relationship with each client, JoseÍs clients know that they can focus their energy on recovering from their injuries, because Jose will devote his personal attention to their legal case. Jose is also bilingual, so that he can speak with Spanish-speaking clients without an interpreter.
