We handle commercial and residential real estate matters of all types. We have a substantial real estate closing practice. The firm is Agent for three major title insurance companies. We have had a substantial land use/zoning practice since 1965. We also advise clients on a wide range of environmental matters, including litigation.
Health Care
The firm provides counsel to a number of medical groups on business, regulatory and litigation issues. We have a substantial certificate-of-need practice for health care institutions and medical practice groups.
The firm includes members of the American Board of Trial Advocates, American Planning Association, American Health Lawyers Association, and National Association of Investment Counsel. Two members of the firm are Tennessee Rule 31 mediators, and one member is on the local federal court mediation panel.
Members of the firm are active in civic, political, and bar organizations. Members have been officers in the Memphis and Tennessee Bar Associations. One is a former United States Senator. Another is a former Memphis City councilman, former Shelby County Republican Party Finance Chairman and Chairman of the Memphis/Shelby County Community Redevelopment Agency. Another is past chairman of the Shelby County Democratic Party, a member of the Tennessee Democratic Party executive Committee, and a member of the state Board of Regents (overseeing state colleges and universities).
