I graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1983 and began practicing law in Wichita at that time. I spent a brief time working as an Assistant States Attorney (a criminal prosecutor) in Rapid City, South Dakota (I grew up in Pierre, South Dakota). I also worked for Legal Services of Wichita with the Elderly Law Project and for Lambdin, Kluge and Zacharias, a law firm here in Wichita. In 1992 I took over another attorney's practice when he became a District Court judge and began practicing on my own. I handle a variety of cases, but the majority of my work is in Family Law (divorce, custody, parenting time, prenuptial agreements, post-divorce matters, child support, etc), Probate Law (estates, step-parent adoptions, guardianships, conservatorships and the preparation of wills) and the Child In Need of Care portion of Juvenile Law.
I was an Administrative Hearing Officer for the State of Kansas for driver's license hearing a number of years ago and for a three year period I was a pro tem judge, filling in for the District Court Judges in the Family Law Department when they were at Judge's Meetings.
