Real Problems Need Real Solutions. Pittsburgh Family Law and Bankruptcy Attorney

Creative Ways To Solve Your Problems

I am a family law and debt relief attorney* who has practiced in Western Pennsylvania and the Allegheny County area for more than 30 years. I am passionate about the law and passionate about applying my knowledge to help people solve their problems in a way that works best for them.

As a lawyer and mediator serving clients in Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, the Mon Valley, the South Hills and beyond, I represent men and women who are dealing with some of the most stressful times in their lives — the grief and stress that accompanies the ending of a marriage and separation of a family or the strain of living under the burden of significant debt.

Many of my clients never envisioned that they would be dealing with debt issues or a family separation or divorce, but now they are. Because of my experience with both family law and debt issues, I can provide my clients with a unique perspective about thefinancial aspects of divorce and the family strain that often results from precarious finances

Accessible, Down To Earth And Caring

My clients are referred to me by fellow attorneys and past clients. They say that I am easy to talk to, down to earth and that I listen. I listen because I care, and because I am wholeheartedly committed to understanding each client's unique issues and needs that can only be addressed and resolved through diligent legal work. And because I am also trained as a mediator, in family law cases I am often able to help you work with the other involved parties to solve issues in a mutually beneficial way.

I Don't Do Cookie-Cutter Solutions

Clients have been told that I know what I am talking about and will always strive to find a way to resolve their legal problems. I do not do cookie-cutter law; rather, I work with real people who are facing unique, real-world problems and need unique, real-world solutions.

My Philosophy On Litigation

I make every effort to reach agreements and avoid litigation, especially in matters of child custody, because of the potential negative impact on any child involved in a child custody dispute. But I know that some cases cannot be negotiated away. When it's time to fight, I'm ready to go.

Mediation, by definition, does not involve litigation unless the mediation process breaks down. If all parties to a dispute, whether it's a divorce, a dispute with a creditor or a landlord-tenant case, want to pursue this strategy, then I will enthusiastically provide mediation services to help you attain your goals.

Confident, Clear And Centered

Judges don't intimidate me. Other lawyers don't intimidate me. Crazy spouses or partners don't intimidate me. My knowledge of the law is grounded in more than 30 years of real-world experience and based on sound legal principles. My results speak for themselves. All of this gives me a confidence that my clients find reassuring.

I have been negotiating solutions to complicated legal issues for many years. My ability to listen and see the other side's points of view allows me to meet them where they are and effectively build a bridge to resolve cases in a matter that protects and enforces my clients' best interests. But, I know when to hold them and when to fold them. When negotiation isn't what's necessary, I am well-prepared to litigate. And now, as a mediator, I am able to provide a more holistic, and often less expensive approach to the resolution of issues.

Use Me As Your Resource

You can use my shoulder to cry on. You may stand behind me as I stand up for you. I will advocate aggressively, knowledgeably and relentlessly on your behalf and for your best interests.
