Our firm has traditionally had a heavy concentration in the mining industry, and our representation of mining clients has ranged from the patenting of mining claims to participating in regulatory rulemaking hearings to litigation on environmental, insurance, and antitrust issues. We have also represented mining clients on legislative matters in both the state legislature and before the United States Congress. The firm has also had a long-time practice in utility matters, and we have handled a broad variety of administrative, corporate, and litigation matters for our utility clients as well as represented them on legislative matters in the state legislature.
Banking and shareholder litigation are areas of considerable attention in the firm's practice. The firm is involved in all aspects of representation on banking matters for corporate clients and financial institutions. We have handled various fraud and misapplication of funds cases and have defended securities dealers in suits alleging violation of securities acts and regulations.
Over the course of our history, the firm has also had an active practice representing local companies and individuals on business and personal matters including real estate, estate planning, probate, and domestic cases. The firm has also represented various insurance companies on coverage matters and in defense of their insureds, and has, for some years, represented major trucking lines on claims arising out of interstate transportation of goods.
