ABOUT Margaret A. Clark

Ms. Clark takes pride in the personal attention and high level of legal representation she is able to provide her clients. Many of these clients have referred friends and family to her. She works as a solo practitioner with a legal assistant, Linda Liotti, to meet the needs and concerns of her clients.

Ms. Clark has been in private practice since 1981, and has been working in her own firm since 1987. She concentrates in Matrimonial, Family, and Adoption Law. She is Special Counsel to a local municipality and also practices in the areas of Land Use, Criminal (misdemeanors and traffic violations) and residential Real Estate Law. Most recently, she has trained intensively in the Collaborative approach to matrimonial and family law issues and is an active member of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals.

Through the collaborative process, attorneys and other collaboratively-trained professionals work with the family to reach a mutually accepted resolution of all issues. This non-adversarial approach leads to a beneficial solution without resorting to contentious court proceedings since the parties and their respective counsel specifically agree to resolve all issues using a non-litigation model. The process is designed to minimize conflict in a marriage dissolution settlement. This collaborative approach is particularly sensitive to and protective of the children in divorcing families.

With over 25 years of legal experience, Ms. Clark brings a high level of expertise to the benefit of her clients. Though comfortable as a litigator, she is also appreciative of alternate dispute resolution models, including the Collaborative approach to divorce. She works closely with her clients to find the most appropriate and effective solution to their legal issues.
