McCaslin, Imbus & McCaslin traces its origin to John M. McCaslin, Sr., who began practicing law shortly before World War I and was one of Cincinnati's preeminent trial lawyers until his retirement in 1966. In 1947, Mr. McCaslin, Sr. was joined in the practice by his son, John M. McCaslin, Jr., and Robert J. Imbus, Sr., thus marking the creation of the firm which has borne their names since.Primarily an insurance defense firm in its early years, McCaslin, Imbus & McCaslin now practices in numerous areas of litigation, as well as in corporate, probate, employment, banking, domestic relations, and workers' compensation law, while retaining a core of defense clients. Several clients, including Queen City Metro, and The North Side Bank have been represented by the firm since its inception, and by John M. McCaslin, Sr. prior to that time.In recent years, McCaslin, Imbus & McCaslin attorneys have developed special expertise in matters involving mass torts, product liability, medical malpractice, insurance coverage, civil rights, employment law, workers' compensation and environmental claims.
