Mellado & Mellado Villarreal

Established by Ramón Mellado-González and his son Jairo “Jay” Mellado-Villarreal in 1992, MMV is the product of three generations of a family intimately associated with the law in Puerto Rico. Ramón Mellado-Parsons –an influential and respected Senator for Puerto Rico’s legislature (one of the founding members of a major political party on the island) and an educator/intellectual- was one of the drafters of Puerto Rico’s Constitution of 1952. His son, Ramón Mellado-González, one of the founding members of the firm, has been a leading member of Puerto Rico’s legal and banking community for decades. In turn, his son, Jay Mellado-Villarreal has become a leading Puerto Rico litigator. Together, the family has steadily developed the firm into one of Puerto Rico’s foremost litigation boutiques.
