At the Rosen Law Firm, our entire practice is founded on the belief that you and your case, no matter how large or small, are important. And while that may seem like a simple and obvious premise, it is also one that we feel too many others easily forget. We have not. We have spent our lifetimes trying to do the best we can for families and individuals in the Charleston area and throughout the state of South Carolina.
We are here to help and we love what we do.
Large law firms can offer and do many things for their clients. However, a smaller firm will provide individualized attention to each client and case. Attorneys Robert and Susan Rosen left the security of working in a large corporate firm to set up this law firm - a firm where they could take fewer cases, where they would have the time to give each case more time and attention, and where they could take a hands-on approach to working with clients.
It could not have worked out better.
Today, their skills as tough, experienced litigators combined with the knowledge and professional contacts they gained through working at a large law firm, consistently produce valuable benefits and results for their clients - benefits and results that come without the overhead costs that large firms typically have to cover.
Their professional accomplishments as lawyers are also noteworthy. Attorney Susan Rosen won a $7,000,000 verdict in Greenville County, one of the largest medical malpractice verdicts ever awarded in South Carolina. The verdict was later reduced to $3,500,000 due to a finding of the plaintiff's contributory negligence. Robert Rosen, a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, is the author of six books, numerous articles, and a frequent lecturer on family law issues for legal education programs. Both Susan and Robert Rosen have been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® reference guide and each has received an AV® Rating* under Martindale-Hubbell's peer-review rating system. In The Best Lawyers in America® reference guide, Robert Rosen has been listed in the category of family law for over 12 years and Susan Rosen is listed in both the personal injury category and the medical malpractice category.
Robert Rosen's is the author of a new book published in November 2007 entitled, "Straight Talk about South Carolina Divorce Law." In the book, Mr. Rosen clears away myths and misconceptions regarding the divorce process and provides comprehensive information about all types of divorce-related concerns.
The simple answer to this question is not as much as you might think. In every area of our practice - personal injury, family law, and other concerns included - we emphasize a cost-conscious approach to case preparation and use highly skilled paralegals to deliver quality services at significantly lower costs to the client whenever possible. The fees for family court cases are typically charged on an hourly basis and will be explained and detailed in a written fee agreement.
Personal injury cases are typically handled on contingency fee basis, meaning that the initial consultation is free and we do not collect any attorneys' fees unless we obtain a verdict or settlement on your behalf. If we do not succeed, we only recover the out-of-pocket costs of preparing the case.
We are also committed to the ideal that when a client's case can be settled fairly without a trial, it should be. Attorney Robert Rosen is a certified arbitrator and Attorney Susan Rosen is a certified mediator. With these skills to draw on, we do not hesitate to recommend cost-saving options when appropriate.
