Our History
Traffic Accident Law Center is the result of nearly 15 years of growth and the culmination of over 1,000 satisfied clients during that time. The firm is the development of a practice started in 1995 by Steven Gnau. Immediately after successfully passing the California Bar Exam and being admitted to the practice of law in the Superior Courts of the State of California, Mr. Gnau became a solo-practitioner. From the very humble beginnings of his practice, Mr. Gnau focused on working hard to help his clients and learning the nuances of trial work. Those founding principles are still the cornerstone of Traffic Accident Law Center as evidenced by our motto - Committed to You, Dedicated to Results.
Over the course of the first decade of his practice, Mr. Gnau achieved notoriety in the area of personal injury litigation. During that time he obtained seven digit recoveries for clients and took several matter to jury verdict. He was invited to lecture about developments in personal injury law by The Continuing Education of the Bar, California (CEB) where he taught other lawyers about legal issues related to traffic accident law, injury case procedures, settlement negotiation tactics, and trial work. The quality of Mr. Gnau's representation of clients has earned him various forms of awards including recognition from the San Diego Mayor's Office, invitation to join the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and inclusion in the San Diego Transcript's Best Attorneys Award in the area of personal injury as a semi-finalist (as voted upon by San Diego attorneys, only).
Daniel Tamez came to San Diego from Texas and admitted to the practice of law in the Superior Courts of the State of California in 2001. Mr. Tamez' work as an attorney has always been focused on the representation of personal injury victims. He has participated in several six and seven digit cases related to tire tread delimitation and similar product defects. He has handled numerous serious injury traffic accident lawsuits as well. Mr. Tamez provides aggressive representation for individuals who have to take on the trillion dollar insurance industry. The quality of Mr. Tamez' client representation was recognized when the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego awarded Mr. Tamez with their Outstanding Trial Attorney Award in 2007.
In 2009, Mr. Gnau and Mr. Tamez formed a partnership combining their experience and dedication to helping victims. While the firm has represented clients injured as a result of several different types of negligence, the overwhelming majority of our clients' cases arise from traffic accidents. Accordingly, Traffic Accident Law Center was started. In order to let Southern Californian's know how we have helped our prior clients and how we can help them, Traffic Accident Law Center engages in several community and charity events. We also sponsor traffic reports on the radio as well as safety tips so that traffic accidents can be avoided altogether.
In 2010, Traffic Accident Law Center grew with the hiring of George Arvanitis. Mr. Arvanitis became a California attorney in 1983 making him the most experienced attorney in the firm. Most of Mr. Arvanitis' experience however comes from defending traffic accident claims and working inside insurance companies defending the exposure of liable parties. The addition of Mr. Arvanitis provides considerable insight to the handling and prosecution of our clients' claims. This insight can be very beneficial to our clients and the recoveries we obtain for them.
Since we advertise our legal services, some people who have heard our advertisements have confused us with Pacific Law Center. On June, 30, 2010, Kerry Steigerwalt publicly announced that Pacific Law Center was closing and that no new client matters would be accepted. Neither Traffic Accident Law Center nor any of its employees have ever had any relationship or employment history with Pacific Law Center. Traffic Accident Law Center is accepting new clients with injury cases. However, we do not provide assistance with bankruptcy matters, loan modifications, criminal defense, or many of the other areas of representation associated with Pacific Law Center.
