ABOUT Albert K. Heng

Albert Heng is an associate at Eversheds Sutherland, where he counsels clients including solo inventors, start-ups, international corporations and Fortune 500 companies on intellectual property issues.

Albert conducts prior art searches and prepares and prosecutes domestic and international utility and design patent applications in technologies including neurostimulation systems, ultrasound and microwave imagers, implantable medical devices, ablation devices, medicine dispensers, microfluidics devices, protective gear and aerospace structures.

He has experience conducting invalidity, patentability, freedom-to-operate and scope-of-coverage analyses for complex due diligence for investors and acquiring corporations, providing litigation support and drafting successful cease and desist letters. In addition, Albert has experience with the Track 1 application program, Patent Prosecution Highway, After-Final Consideration Program 2.0 and Pre-Appeal Brief Conference Pilot Program.

He has also successfully helped LGBT asylum seekers prepare and file affirmative and defensive asylum applications as well as employment authorizations pro bono. He is currently serving on the board of directors for the Tom Homann LGBT Law Association.

Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Albert worked for a national law firm.

While in law school, he worked as a student attorney for the BU Civil Litigation Program in the Immigration Rights Clinic and as a patent extern for the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Albert was the J.D. student commencement speaker for the class of 2015 at Boston University School of Law.
