ABOUT Amanda Justine Dougherty

Amanda is the newest member of Reiff and Bily. She began as a prosecutor in Montgomery County and shortly moved on to a civil practice with the City of Philadelphia Law Department. She spent several years doing real estate tax and insurance defense work, handling trials and motions in the Court of Common Pleas, appeals in the Superior and Commonwealth Courts, as well as countless arbitrations in the Philadelphia County’s Compulsory Arbitration program. Most notably, Amanda successfully handled a real estate tax assessment trial and subsequent appeal to the Commonwealth Court that resulted in over $3 million of additional revenue to the City and School District of Philadelphia. After leaving the City of Philadelphia and spending a year as a general litigator for Gawthrop Greenwood, PC, in Chester County, Amanda is happy to have returned to Center City Philadelphia, where she plans to aggressively litigate for Plaintiffs’ rights.

Amanda is an honors graduate of Bryn Mawr College and received her law degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where she participated in Temple’s nationally-recognized Mock Trial Team and Trial Advocacy program. She also participated in an LLM program through Temple in conjunction with Tsinghua University, a top Chinese university, to receive a masters in Chinese Law. As an Associate Editor of the Philadelphia Bar Reporter for the last three years, she has written about matters affecting both the local and state bars, such as educational lectures in trial advocacy and the candidates for the Philadelphia Supreme Court.
