Andrea Wasson focuses her law practice on bankruptcy and debtor's rights since 2008. Prior to 2008, she spent the majority of her career representing creditors in the collection of debts. This experience gives her a unique perspective on the tactics used by companies to collect debt and what can be done to eliminate and/or protect the consumer from a legal perspective. Additionally, it provides her with an understanding of the mental and emotional toll it can take on an individual when they are burdened by financial stress. Andrea now uses her knowledge to give people under financial stress an opportunity for a second chance at their financial life. She believes that this second chance can lead to other dramatic positive changes for her clients in other areas of their life as well. Andrea practices in the Western District of Kentucky, the Eastern District of Kentucky, and the Southern District of Indiana.
In addition to her work with Wasson & Thornhill, PLLC, Andrea is a volunteer lawyer with the Legal Aid Society of Louisville. In that role, she donates legal services to the community through filing bankruptcy for individuals without charge. Andrea is also a yearly participant in the CARE program which educates high school students about the dangers of incurring bad debt and budgeting.
