ABOUT Burke N. Riggs

Raised in Colorado, Burke Riggs’s working-class family emphasized hard work, humility, and integrity. His grandfather, the owner and operator of two successful small Denver businesses, embodied these values and served as a role model to Burke. After graduating from Columbine High School, Burke earned his undergraduate degree with dual majors in Economics and History while also playing for three varsity sports teams, one of which was nationally ranked in lacrosse.

An interest in assisting business owners like his grandfather propelled Burke to enroll at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, where he served on the law review. Burke worked his way through law school as a law clerk and, after graduation, he practiced with several prestigious firms in Denver. In 2014, he founded Burke Riggs Law, LLC to focus on the rights of business owners. In 2019, Burke joined forces with his former partner, mentor, and friend, Jim Miller, to form Miller Riggs.

Burke understands that business owners know their businesses best. To ensure that his clients make informed decisions and take advantage of the law, Burke takes a collaborative approach. He values each of his client’s unique innovations and seeks to understand their challenges so that he may apply his knowledge, skills, and legal experience to each situation. To Burke, effective legal representation comes from not just legal expertise, but also from the lawyer’s ability to understand and appreciate each client’s goals.

Burke’s practice focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation. He has litigated cases in 14 states, and various federal courts where his numerous successes have earned him the reputation of a highly competent lawyer and litigator.

Burke gives back to the Colorado community and has served on several metro-area boards including the Denver Athletic Club and the Mustang Sports Club. Studying the craft of advocacy and helping young and aspiring lawyers is another area of interested to Burke, and he is a member of NITA Foundation.
