Carly Hakim Babi is a first generation Hispanic-Middle Eastern American. She was born and raised in Metro Detroit while spending the summer months in Mexico City with her family. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Spanish from Wayne State University in 2013 and received her Juris Doctorate and Masters of Business Administration degrees from Detroit Mercy in 2018.
For the past 8 years, she worked as a law clerk in many areas of law including: foreclosures and debt relief; family law; criminal defense; immigration; and personal injury.
In college, Carly volunteered for various non-profit organizations based in Mexico City, aimed at protecting human, civil, political, economic and social rights of the underprivileged.
While in law school, Carly was a student attorney at the 35th District Court where she represented criminal defendants that could not afford an attorney.
Carly has also been committed to serving the Hispanic community as a legal liaison between other attorneys and their Spanish-speaking clients. She now continues to service her community in Metro Detroit as an attorney and social advisor.
