ABOUT Catherine 'Kitty' Johanna Hockensmith

Ms. Hockensmith attended the West Virginia University and worked full time during her schooling. She graduated with her B.A., cum laude, in 2014. Ms. Hockensmith then attended the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Drexel University. She was awarded a full-tuition, merit-based Rising Advocacy Scholarship, which she retained until graduating with her Juris Doctorate in 2017. Ms. Hockensmith was successfully barred in Pennsylvania in 2017.

Ms. Hockensmith spent her first summer in law school at the Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project, where she worked on civil rights violations within our prison system. During her second summer of law school, Ms. Hockensmith worked for a Common Pleas judge in Philadelphia, where she wrote numerous opinions in criminal cases.

During her final year of law school, Ms. Hockensmith was selected for a criminal defense related co-op with a respected Philadelphia litigation firm. Her exceptional performance inspired the firm to extend the co-op through her final semester of law school.

Ms. Hockensmith brings prodigious research and writing skills to Mosser Legal. She works in tandem with Mr. Mosser in litigating PCRA petitions, criminal appeals, federal habeas, and civil rights actions.
