Catherine M. Manofsky is Of Counsel at Smithey Law Group, LLC and focuses exclusively on employment and labor law issues. Ms. Manofsky is an experienced litigator who has represented a variety of clients, including individuals, employers, and public and private entities. She has a broad litigation background in employment litigation, complex civil and business litigation, and appellate advocacy.
Education and Background
A Maryland native, Ms. Manofsky completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she was a member of the University Honors Program and Phi Beta Kappa. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, with a double major in Psychology and Criminology & Criminal Justice. Ms. Manofsky received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she served as Executive Editor of the Law Review and a Moot Court Board Member. She received the honors of the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barristers. Ms. Manofsky previously served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Peter B. Krauser of the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland. Prior to joining Smithey Law Group LLC in 2018, Ms. Manofsky was a principal at a prominent litigation firm in Baltimore.

Ms. Manofsky is a leader of two Girl Scout Troops for the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland. She is also a member of the Executive Board of the Davidsonville Elementary Parent Teacher Organization. She has previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of Anne Arundel County CASA, Inc. and Chrysalis House, Inc. and as a member of the MSBA Ethics Committee.
