ABOUT Charles A. Moster, Esq.

Mr. Moster heads the Firm’s Oil & Gas Law Practice at our office in Midland – Odessa at the Claydesta Center (pictured below) in addition to its Intellectual Property practice with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence. He has represented top computer scientists in the field.

Mr. Moster’s experience over 33 years as an AV rated lawyer is multifaceted. He commenced his practice as a business and litigation attorney for the U.S. Department of Commerce during the Reagan and Bush administrations focusing on industrial projects in excess of $1 Billion. He has represented Oil & Gas companies in diversified areas from production to distribution to related services, among other areas.

Mr. Moster also practices in the areas of intellectual property/technology law, commercial litigation, appellate practice, and entertainment law.

He is graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. (1977) and holds a law degree from Temple University School of Law of Philadelphia, PA. (1984). Additionally, he earned his master’s Degree in political science from San Diego State University (1979).

Mr. Moster joined the Washington, D.C. law firm of Deckelbaum & Ogens in 1990 after leaving the U.S. Department of Commerce and became a Partner at that Firm which concentrated in the areas of commercial litigation and business law. He co-founded the Austin based law firm of Moster Wynne in 1996 (now RWR Legal) before opening The Moster Law Firm which has offices in Midland-Odessa, Lubbock, Plainview, Amarillo, Abilene, Georgetown, and Houston. He has been conferred the “AV Preeminent” rating from Martindale Hubbell, which is the highest level of achievement granted to attorneys nationwide for legal excellence and the highest ethical standards of practice (5 of 5 possible score).

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Moster has authored several books in the areas of computer science, philosophy/theology, political science, and corporate law. His non-fiction book, “Teilhard’s Arrow – A New Theory of Everything”, was released in July of 2018 and is available on Amazon books. Teilhard’s Arrow considers whether God can be proved up scientifically and if theology can be reconciled with quantum physics, evolution, and cosmology.

Mr. Moster is also the author of “The Six Pillars of the New American Partnership”, which discusses the six major defects in the U.S. Constitution and proposes that a new constitution be adopted and ratified. The book is available at Amazon Books.

Mr. Moster’s non-fiction book entitled, “How to Make an Enhanced Computer and Take Over the World” considers the import of creating a conscious computer and whether the United States should embark on a massive developmental project akin to the Manhattan Project to develop this technology before our adversaries on the world stage.

He just released his latest book, “The Golden Mile – The Case for the Corporate Death Penalty – Here Comes Old Sparky!” This work considers whether major corporations which engage in deadly acts should be subject to involuntary dissolution.

Mr. Moster has abandoned the world of literature for a short period as he perfects his coding skills as a Python Programmer. He is working on a computer program with an eye towards passing the Turing Test! He anticipates rolling out a prototype this Winter and is in search of human participants to dialogue with an artificial consciousness by the name of “Virtual Charley”.

Mr. Moster also writes a bi-monthly legal and editorial column for The Lubbock Avalanche Journal in West Texas.

Mr. Moster also served as a playwright, lyricist, composer, and author for over 40 years. His award-winning plays and original musical compositions have been produced for the New York stage (Circle-in-the Square Theatre and New York Theatre Ensemble) and venues across the country including National Public Radio and Canadian Production Companies. His radio plays have focused on the lives of brilliant but lesser known scientists including Charles Babbage, the inventor of the first programmable computer in 1837, See, A Different Engine, El Camino Real Productions; Nikola Tesla, the inventor of alternating current and a rumored time machine, Nikola Tesla vs. The United States, and poignant historical events such as the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States; Taken, How Will They be Remembered?
