Charles Buchanan began his personal injury and workers' compensation practice over 35 years ago. Before beginning his practice, Charles received a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri and practiced as a chemical engineer before serving two years as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army in Korea. Charles then attended law school at the University of Missouri where he was a member of the board of editors of the Missouri Law Review and graduated with Honors in the top 10% of his law school class.
Since starting his practice, Charles has focused on helping his clients recover the personal injury and workers' compensation benefits they are owed. Charles has devoted a substantial part of his practice to representing injured truck drivers, and he developed www.hurttrucker.com as a resource for injured truckers. Charles has the highest rating (AV Preeminent) for ethics and legal ability given by Martindale Hubbell, which is the most prominent attorney rating service. This rating takes into account reviews from both clients and other attorneys and represents a reputation earned over decades of serving personal injury and workers' compensation clients. Charles is also the Senior Editor of the Hurt Trucker blog, the official personal injury and worker's compensation blog for truckers.
In addition to practicing law, Charles is active in the community. Over the years, he has volunteered his time to the Boys & Girls Club (he served as President of the Club in Joplin for 2 years), Habitat for Humanity, Lafayette House, and several other civic organizations. Charles is also an avid reader and enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities.
