Charles was born in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1982. He moved several times as a child, living in New Orleans and Columbia before settling in Augusta in 1997. He graduated from Lakeside High School in 2001 (Go Panthers!).
After high school, Charles went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!), where he was president of the Episcopal Campus Ministry, served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister at the Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill, and earned a B.A. in Religious Studies.
Following college, Charles moved back home to Augusta and took a job as an Account Executive at WJBF. After working in advertising sales and marketing for about 5 years, Charles followed his lifelong dream and went to law school.
Charles graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2013 (Go Gamecocks!), and has been practicing law in Augusta, Georgia ever since.
Charles is a member of the Augusta Kiwanis Club, the Augusta Bar Association, the Augusta Family Bar Association, and is the Augusta Area VP for the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Charles teaches Sunday School and, along with the rest of his extended family, is a regular parishioner at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Augusta. The most important people in his life are his wife, Robin, and his daughter, Lilah. His dog Rex is his best friend (by definition).
