Over the years, Van Egmond has practiced law in the areas of general civil litigation, insurance defense, public entity defense, family law, probate, business litigation, business transactions, collections, estate litigation, estate planning, conservatorships, financial elder abuse and bankruptcy law. Van Egmond handles multi-million dollar cases on a daily basis involving wrongful death cases, trucking accidents, business fraud, business disputes, estate litigation and financial elder abuse. More recently, Van Egmond has worked to narrow the areas in which she practices to business transactions, business litigation, estate planning, estate litigation, probate cases, and financial elder abuse. In the last fifteen years, Van Egmond has:
- Represented clients in over 30 trials and arbitrations as an Attorney;
- Ruled on over 20 trials and Arbitrations as Judge Pro Tem / Arbitrator;
- Represented clients in over 400 mediations;
- Taken or Defended over 800 depositions;
- Been the lead Attorney in over 1,100 Civil Cases;
- Drafted over 600 Civil motions; and
- Has a two published opinions (1) U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit, Butler v. Clarendon America Ins. Co. (2007) 494 F. Supp. 2d 1112; and (2) Third District Court of Appeal, Iqbal v. Ziadeh (2017) 10 Cal.App.5th 1.
In addition to Van Egmond's experience in the law, Van Egmond has been the managing partner of her firm for over 10 years wherein Van Egmond has been responsible for managing every aspect of the law firm including but not limited to HR, accounts payable, accounts receivable, marketing/advertising, and file management. As part of management, Van Egmond has devoted substantial time to training new lawyers and legal assistants of the firm to be efficient, ethical and to perform high quality work for the firm's clients.
Van Egmond also enjoys spending considerable service time in the community serving in many capacities including Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Children's Crisis Center, serving as a Board Member and Officer on the Stanislaus County Bar Association, and providing pro bono legal services aiding seniors through the Senior Law Project in Stanislaus County.
