ABOUT Courtney L. Eagan

Courtney L. Smith was born in Tulsa, OK on December 28, 1982. She is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. Ms. Smith worked at the National Museum of the American Indian during its opening in 2004. It was this experience for Ms. Smith that prompted her to attend law school and study in the area of Indian Law. During her time in law school Ms. Smith pursued different policy areas of Indian law, including housing. Her article, A House With No Walls: The Federal Government's Role in Indian Housing, was published in the Tulsa Law Review, Winter 2008. Today, Ms. Smith's practice primarily consists of serving Muscogee (Creek) Citizens in the area of family law, including divorce, child custody, adoption, and guardianships. Order of the Curule Chair. Certificate in Native American Laws. Outstanding Native American J.D. Student Law. Vice-President of the Native American Law Student Association.
