ABOUT Craig Wallace
Craig Wallace is a partner in the San Francisco office of Smith Currie. Prior to joining Smith Currie, Craig was a partner at McLennon Law Corporation that merged with Smith Currie in January 2016. His practice focuses on construction law, contracts, insurance and real estate, including both litigation and transactional services on both public and private matters. In practice since 1994, these matters range from multi-million dollar complex multi-party lawsuits to disputes that are more efficiently resolved without resort to the courts. He successfully represents plaintiffs and defendants through all phases of litigation, with extensive experience in all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation. He is knowledgeable with nationally recognized contract forms such as the AIA, AGC, and ConsensusDocs products, and has a broad range of experience drafting and negotiating contracts. His representative clients include owners, general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals and other service providers, product manufacturers, and material suppliers.
Craig has successfully represented his clients in trials, arbitrations, and administrative forums and resolved client issues that include delay claims, development, construction, and design contract drafting and disputes, mechanic’s liens and bonds claims/disputes, trade secret disputes, insurance bad faith, intellectual property, catastrophic damage claims, environmental claims, professional liability/licensing, real estate purchase/sale and lease disputes and transactions, unfair business practices and business torts and construction defect claims.
He has participated in hundreds of mediations and alternative dispute processes on behalf of his clients. Craig is a licensed mechanical engineer (California) and practiced construction and building-related engineering prior to his legal career, enabling him to provide effective and cost-efficient representation in disputes involving complex and/or technical issues.
