Daniel P. Gerash has been a trial lawyer in Colorado for 20 years. He is a managing partner with the Denver law firm of Gerash Steiner, P.C. He is a trial lawyer practicing in the areas of catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, toxic tort and criminal defense. He has been lead and co-counsel in many complex civil cases involving catastrophic medical malpractice including birth injuries, brain injuries, anesthesiology, and surgical cases. He has successfully tried and settled many cases in the six and seven figure range. In the last two years, he has settled a catastrophic medical malpractice case and a civil rights case for substantial, but confidential amounts.
He began his career with the Denver regional Public Defender's office litigating numerous serious felony and homicide trials for eight years. In 1995, Mr. Gerash left the public realm to join his renowned father, Walter L. Gerash in private practice specializing in personal injury and criminal defense. After six years as a partner with his father, he left the firm and began his own law practice with his wife, Karen M. Gerash, a specialist in Appellate Advocacy. He continues to associate with his father on select cases. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in psychology and his J.D. degree from the University of Colorado, School of Law. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, the American Trial Lawyer's Association, and the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar. He has been chosen in 2006, 2007, and 2009 for Best Lawyers in America.
