David A. Christensen joined Marks Clare & Richards as an associate attorney in 1994 and became a member of the firm in 2000. Beginning in 2013, David retired as a member, and is now serving as of counsel with the firm. His main areas of practice are family law, including dissolution actions, paternity, adoptions and child custody cases, personal injury cases, and workers’ compensation matters. Other legal work includes estate planning and probate which includes preparation of Wills, Trusts, Durable Powers of Attorney and Living Wills. David also incorporates both for-profit corporations as well as non-profit corporations.
David grew up in South Dakota on a family farm. He attended South Dakota State University where he graduated in 1968 with a B.S. Degree in agriculture. While there, he was part of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Upon graduation from South Dakota State University he was also commissioned in the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant. After serving 21 years in the Air Force, David retired in 1989 with rank of Major. While in the Air Force he obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Midwestern State University in 1973. Simultaneously with retiring from the military, he graduated from Creighton Law School with a Juris Doctor Degree. David is married to Julaine and they have three children and 11 grandchildren. David is an avid golfer and is very active in his local church.
