Clay Snell, a native of San Antonio, attended the University of New Mexico and obtained his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas in 1999. Clay graduated in the top five percent of his class at St. Mary’s and served as Articles Editor for the St. Mary’s Law Journal.
Clay has practiced law in San Antonio since 1999 and has represented plaintiffs and defendants in numerous trials, appeals, and arbitrations in state and federal courts in Texas. Clay has argued three appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans, La.
In 2005, Clay was recognized by Texas Monthly as a “Rising Star” in the Texas legal community, a distinction given to the top Texas lawyers under the age of 40.
Along with the late Pat Maloney, Sr., Clay co-authored Chapter 10, Alternative Dispute Resolution, of the ATLA/West legal treatise, Tort Litigation.
Clay is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and New Mexico, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
Clay is married and has three children. In addition to his law practice, Clay is a member of the BSKlaw/Bikeworld Bicycle Racing Team and is an avid cyclist and outdoorsman.
