Attorney David Resis joined Malman Law in 2013, first as a law clerk and then as an associate attorney. Even as a young lawyer, Attorney Resis has been recognized for his leadership, persistence, and analytical skills in the office. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for the state of Illinois in 2017 and 2018.
In addition, his recent successes in the courtroom have already helped Malman Law clients obtain financial compensation for their injuries.
Some of his recent courtroom successes include:
• $1,000,000.00 nursing home case
• $1,500,000.00 slip and fall case
• $972,000.00 nursing home case.
Attorney Resis has used his various litigation skills to recover over $5,000,000 in settlements for his clients in fewer than four years of practice. In addition to settlements, he has utilized his abilities during several cases thus far and has helped obtain several million-dollar verdicts, totaling nearly $4,000,000.
These trials have involved both nursing home and personal injury matters, including the only ever verdict against a nursing home management company in Illinois. During his career, Attorney has also successfully obtained several five-figure arbitration awards on behalf of his injured clients.
Much of Attorney Resis’ success is due to his ability to his methodical nature and analytical mind. He meticulously reviews a client’s records to identify a defendant’s wrongdoing, then holding those who individually caused the harm to the client’s loved-one accountable.
Born and raised in Chicago, Attorney Resis always wanted to be an attorney. He began his legal career as a clerk during collegiate years at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Prior to becoming an attorney, he worked for several civil litigation firms, handling cases for both Plaintiffs and Defendants, in the fields of medical malpractice, nursing homes, personal injury, real estate, and construction.
Upon graduation from the University of Illinois, where he obtained his degree in psychology, Attorney Resis attended The John Marshall Law School. While in law school, he was very active in the trial advocacy program, and he held numerous positions on the Trial Advocacy Honors Board, successfully participated in numerous trial competitions, was a state court clerk for the Honorable Judge Kyriakopoulos, and held numerous positions on the executive board of the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity, Lincoln Chapter.
In his free time, Attorney Resis enjoys playing sports, including volleyball, football, softball. He enjoys reading, exercising, and attending fundraisers to support people with various medical illnesses. Additionally, he is a teacher/coach at The John Marshall Law School for students participating in the national mock trial competitions through the mock trial honors program at the school.
