David Baria

Attorney David W. Baria is a partner with Cosmich, Simmons & Brown, PLLC, which has offices in Bay St. Louis and Jackson, Mississippi as well as New Orleans, LA and other states. Serving clients throughout the State of Mississippi, particularly the state's Gulf Coast region, Mr. Baria represents the rights and interests of those who have legal needs involving any of the following:

A native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Mr. Baria has a genuine concern for the legal issues that affect the residents and businesses of his community. Along with maintaining a successful legal practice, he became an elected member of the Mississippi State Senate in 2007 and a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives in 2011, representing District 122. David served as House Minority Leader and was the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate in 2018.

Whether looking out for his constituents in the state legislature or advocating on behalf of his plaintiff clients in court, Mr. Baria always has the best interests of those he serves at heart. As an attorney, he has achieved notable success over the course of his 30 years in practice, securing millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements and successfully defending those wrongly accused.

A 1987 graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice, Mr. Baria obtained his Juris Doctor from The University of Mississippi School of Law in 1990. Along with practicing before all Mississippi state courts, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.

Highly active in his legal community, Mr. Baria has served in a number of leadership roles with the Mississippi Association for Justice, including President. In addition, he is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation. He holds an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell, he has been selected as a Super Lawyer and Best Lawyer for last decade, and he has earned numerous other accolades from his peers along with many positive reviews and referrals from his satisfied clients.
