Deborah grew up in Lewisville, Texas and graduated from the University of North Texas in 1988 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1991 with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence. While in law school she worked at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Upon completing law school she joined the Smith County District Attorney’s Office, initially as the Grand Jury Attorney and ultimately as a Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Prosecutor. Deborah left the District Attorneys in 1994 and entered into private practice specializing in family law.
In 2010 Deborah founded the SPCA of East Texas. She is the organization’s president and serves on the Board of Directors. Deborah is actively involved in animal cruelty investigations and prosecutions, as well as animal rescue and adoption services and fundraising for the organization.
