John Jones's practice centers on health care law and taxation, as well as corporate, real estate and finance law.John was born in Billings on December 2, 1956. He attended the University of Munich, Germany, and received his B.A. degree from Willamette University in 1979. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Puget Sound in 1983, and also received an LL.M. degree, in taxation, from Boston University in 1985. He was Articles Editor of Boston University Journal of Tax Law which published his article, "Marital Deduction Planning With QTIP After The 1984 Tax Reform Act."John interned with a Tacoma, Washington law firm for two years and then clerked with the Montana Supreme Court for one year prior to joining Moulton Bellingham in 1985. John is listed in the publication, The Best Lawyers in America, and he has received the highest rating by The Chambers USA Guide. John is a member of the American Academy of Health Care Attorneys. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Rocky Mountain College, is a Trustee for the Charles M. Bair Family Trust, is President of the Montana Captive Insurance Association, is President-Elect of the Self-Insurance Institute of America, and is a Member of Wells Fargo Bank of Billings Community Board of Directors.John is recent Past President of Moulton Bellingham. He is married to Darla and they have two sons, Sean and Nathan. John's hobbies include snow skiing, fly fishing, hiking and golf.
