Ephraim Jacob (“E.J.”) Fink is a partner at MayaLaw, and has been litigating in the Connecticut and New York Courts since 2000. Attorney Fink focuses his practice on personal injury, matrimonial and family law, estate and probate litigation, and commercial disputes.
Attorney Fink graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in journalism and thereafter obtained his law degree at New England Law-Boston where his dean’s list grade average earned him an associate editor position on the New England Journal on Criminal and Civil Confinement. He also was permitted to prosecute a DUI case as a part of a special student extern clinic program.
Attorney Fink then began his professional legal career by clerking for the Superior Court of Connecticut in the Bridgeport, New Haven and Stamford Judicial Districts writing decisional opinions for the judges in all manner of cases with specialty in criminal law including research and writing regarding the Skakel-Moxley case. Attorney Fink then spent more than seven years at one of the country’s largest insurance defense firms, defending negligence, professional liability, product liability, labor and employment claims, commercial contract disputes and medical malpractice liability matters in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx. E.J. also defended New York City area hospitals at Environmental Control Board hearings. After representing numerous insurance carriers and their policyholders as well as corporations, product manufacturers and healthcare facilities from negligence and contract claims, Attorney Fink applies his experience and knowledge for individuals in need and focuses his attention to detail for Maya Law’s personal and business clientele.
Attorney Fink is a licensed member of the bar in Connecticut and New York and is also admitted to practice in the Federal District Courts of Connecticut, New York’s Southern and Eastern Districts and the United States Supreme Court. Attorney Fink is adept at applying the strategies of the insurance carriers to turn them to the advantage of injured individual who needs counsel against such unyielding defendants. E.J. also guides clients, be it personal injury, family law, or commercial matters, through alternative dispute resolution if called for, including non-binding mediations and high-low arbitrations if pre-trial ADR is sensible.
