ABOUT Eric M. Zivitz

A Partner at Butler since 1998, Eric M. Zivitz devotes his Miami practice to complex cases in the areas of Construction Defect claims, Negligent/Inadequate Security, Products Liability, Wrongful Death, Trucking Accidents, Premises Liability, Civil Rights Defense, Employment Discrimination, and Automobile Negligence. He has extensive experience litigating in South Florida and has tried many cases to verdict throughout the state.

Eric graduated from Emory University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He went on to receive his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center in 1986. While attending law school, Eric served as Chief Advocate and Junior Editor of the Moot Court Society. He was also a Leo Goodwin Research fellow under Professor Johnny C. Burris. He has also been peer rated as AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.

Since becoming a lawyer, Eric has presented at numerous seminars before attorneys, insurance claim professionals, and independent adjusters on the subjects of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, defending sexual harassment claims, negligent security, and adjuster ethics. He has also published “Defending Sleep Apnea Claims in Trucking Litigation.”

Butler’s annual CTRL Your Future essay contest was created by the Firm’s Community Service Committee to recognize deserving high school seniors who have exhibited commitment to their academics. The winners in each city received a brand-new laptop with a full Microsoft Office Suite installed to assist them in their studies in the fall.

June 20, 2016 NEWS Tampa Recipient of Butler Step-Up Award Selected

The Tampa winner of the Butler Step-Up award has been selected. David Maldoff presented the award to Suha Zeineladbin at the Hillsborough Education Foundation’s 2016 Take Stock in Children Scholar Celebration. She received the award for her commitment to scholarly success and community service. She will be attending the University of South Florida in the fall.
