Erica Cooper has a passion for assisting individuals and families in accomplishing their estate planning goals, through active listening and communication. She has implemented a process which allows her to easily guide her clients through the estate planning process. Her process allows her to help clients in such a fashion that all obstacles to planning are removed and the client can move forward and finalize his or her estate planning objectives. The end result is that her clients have designed a comprehensive and understandable estate plan, which will address their estate planning goals and will be easily implemented by the clients at all times. Erica is also dedicated to providing her fiduciary clients the advice and direction they need in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities throughout the period of administration.
Prior to joining MOBO, Erica was an attorney in the San Francisco, Bay Area, where she practiced exclusively in fiduciary representation, estate planning, trust administration, and probate law. Erica has her Masters of Law in Taxation and is a Certified Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Specialist, certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Erica has litigated numerous matters concerning trusts and estates, and conservatorships. Her diligent work has provided her clients with the legal expertise needed to prevent, negotiate, settle and/or litigate disputes. Her experience has included handling will and trust contests, trust and estate administration disputes, undue influence, asset recovery, fraud, and breaches of fiduciary duty by trustees, administrators and conservators. She has worked with her clients on the removal and surcharge of fiduciaries, appointment of fiduciaries, elder abuse, accounting issues and real estate matters.
At MOBO, Erica’s practice focuses on all facets of trust, probate estate, and conservatorship administrations. Erica ensures that her clients feel respected and valued while assisting them in matters that are of the utmost importance to their estate and future planning. Erica’s background as an experienced estate-planning lawyer with a focus in taxation and a trusts and estates litigator provides her with the insight to avoid both the common pitfalls of poorly drafted estate plans and the ability to prevent her fiduciary clients from making common mistakes in administering trusts and estates. She provides services to clients all over Northern California and Northern Nevada, including handling cases throughout the Bay Area.
Erica was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada. In her time away from the office, Erica enjoys spending time with her family, sports and travelling.
