He attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem North Carolina where he graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in 2001. Erik attended and graduated from University of Wisconsin Law School - Madison, in 2005. He is a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association, Winnebago County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar and is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Courts of both Wisconsin and Illinois.
He volunteers his time to a charitable association, the Children's Home and Aid foundation, where he serves on the board of directors. His hobbies include reading, skiing, cartography and city planning.
