Erin Bailey is an experienced Trial attorney. She represents her clients with zeal and compassion with a meticulous attention to detail. Erin has spent her legal career practicing primarily in Horry, Georgetown, and Charleston Counties.
Originally from North Carolina, Erin Bailey came to South Carolina on a scholarship from the Debate Team at the University of South Carolina. She competitively debated in high school, winning the North Carolina State Tournament in 1998 in policy debate. She continued honing her argumentation skills as an intercollegiate competitive debater, competing in and winning intercollegiate debate tournaments all over the country. She won the S.E.C. Title in debate for the University of South Carolina in 2000. She earned a B.A. In Political Science from the University of South Carolina in 2002. In 2004, she earned a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She then returned to the University of South Carolina to study law, earning her J.D. In 2007. While in law school, Erin served as Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Journal of International Law and Business, competed in a national Moot Court competition, led several student groups, and won the Pro Bono Volunteer of the year award in 2007.
Erin is active in the Georgetown County and South Carolina Bar Association. She has served on the South Carolina Bar’s House of Delegates. She is currently chair of the Criminal Law Council of the South Carolina Bar. Erin has presented at CLEs organized by the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the South Carolina Commission on Prosecution Coordination. She has received the highest available peer review rating (AV) through Martindale-Hubbell and has been rated Preeminent for Legal Ability and for Ethical Standards by her peers.
Erin has served on the Board of Directors of the Magdalene House of Charleston, the Standing Committee of the Episcopal Church in South Carolina, and the Vestry of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Charleston. She also chaired the rector search committee at St Stephen’s.
In 2016 Erin fulfilled her life-long dream when she established The Law Office of Erin E. Bailey LLC. She enthusiastically represents individuals who have been charged with a crime, have been injured through the negligence of another, or who need simple wills to protect their families.
