ABOUT George M. Hearn, Jr.

George M. Hearn, Jr. was born in Charlotte, NC in 1951, the son of George and Martha Hearn. He grew up in Rock Hill, SC where he graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1970. In 1974, he received a B.A. degree in economics from Duke University and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1977.

George was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1977 and served as a clerk to The Honorable Chief Justice J. Woodrow Lewis of the South Carolina Supreme Court from 1977 to 1979. He served as a member of the Board of Commissioners on Grievances and Discipline from 1983 until 1985 and was a member of the Executive Board from 1985 to 1986. In 1986, he became a member of the South Carolina Board of Bar Examiners and has been Chairman of that Board since 1997. George has been a speaker at numerous judicial and continuing legal education seminars throughout the state. In 1999, he received the Gold Compleat Lawyer Award from the South Carolina Bar. He is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts, with a focus on personal injury, product liability, domestic relations, and appellate law.
